SAP game

I came in the second week of the game. I believe i was on team q or g but im not sure which one. We ended up ranking fourth to last for rounds 2 and 3 of the game. The strategy in place was to sell basic water at an extremely low price, and thus profit ratio. Wal mart practices this type of, high volume low profit ratio, business style. Unfortunately I believe the prices set were to low. basic Economic principle teaches that if demand is greater than available supply the price must rise, moving closer to the equilibrium price. We continually sold out of water and had to wait days without inventory to sell. We could have combated this by adjusting prices higher. We also had a surplus of many products that seemed to not sell at all. By lowering the price steadily throughout each round we could have maximized profits and ultimately ended up with little to no inventory at the end. I learned that participating in business scenario games is both fun and educational. I also learned that I do not want to be an accountant.

This tent is innovative because it greatly reduces the assembly time. this  gives the user the option of traveling longer, knowing that less time is required for assembly.

Apple

ApPle had every legal right to fire the employee. The article states that appple informs employees "Critical remarks about the brand, were strictly prohibiED". Because Apple includes this term in their employee contract the employee has no right to challenge their decision. While some people might call that unethical on Apples part it is simply environment of modern day business. People should know that anything they post online can be used against them whether positive or negative.

Decision Making Software

I currently do not use any type of decision making software at this point in my life. If I were to own my own company, the benefits of using such software would be dramatic. the website mint.com offers software that brings all of your personal finance accounts together under one roof. this makes it easier to set budgets and maintain them.

Technology has played a pivotal role in the rise of plagiarism. It acts to enable plagiarism by making it easier, faster, and more concealable. One time in high school, someone i knew managed to get the answer sheet for a history test coming up. They offered the answers to me as well and i was faced with a tough decision. I chose not to take them because history was my favorite class which made it easy. people who take the easy way out will end up having it catch up to them in the long run.

I have very strong opinions when it comes to americas education system. I was the only child of three to go to private school my whole life, and I am very thankful for it. I never realized before coming to college what a difference it made. I have a lot of friends that went to public schools and we have often discussed the differences in these environments. I believe a huge factor for our declining education levels has to do with peoples priorities. people care to much about pop culture and what the mass media puts on to entertain them. i have witnessed this first hand with many of my friends. they can name entire rosters of sports teams, and different statistics to accompany them, but cannot name the first five presidents. people, sadly, look up to pop culture figures and become obsessed with them. We care more about the kardashians than actual substantial matters.  this trend continues in our society because the parents pass these tendencies on to the next generation. If we really want to reverse this trend, education must start in the home.

technology role in learning

some technologies i use to aid my learning include computers, calculators, heytell, and my cell phone. I use the computer everyday both inside and outside the classroom. It has helped me cut down on book weight as well, because of the move to online textbooks. I can also use programs on the computer that help me compute equations for economic classes. In my business related courses I often have to call upon a calculator to assist me. heytell is a fairly new app for smartphones. It allows you to send instant voice recordings over your cell phone. This saves me a lot of time from texting or calling someone for a question about homework or such. In a whole technology has helped me to become a more efficient student both in and out of the classroom.

Technology is tightly wound into the every day lives of both economist, and the economy as a whole. Technology plays such a vital role in every day business that even the smallest increase in innovation can lead to huge profit gains. This ultimately affects the supply and demand curve over the long run. Since it changes so rapidly it is often a hard factor to consider. However technology also affects policy makers and the the outcomes they choose. New policies can have both huge negative or positive affects on the economy. Although technology is a single factor, it plays a huge role in where the economy heads and the accuracy of economist to predict it.
